Baltimore and Washington, DC

While this picture was not taken near either city, and well over 200 miles away from the original in NYC, it was taken on the drive and I feel it captures the essence of these two cities. Very patriotic…. very Chela

Amish Country

On my drive from Springfield, VA to Matamoras, PA I had the good fortune to drive right through Amish country. Horse and buggies filled the streets and I stopped my car on the side of the streets to admire a man plowing his fields with a horse driven plow. The skill required to guide the horses while also cutting a straight line kept me interested for a long time. I introduced Chelas to the Amish and while this greatly amused them I failed to get any of them to try a pair on. Apparently they are not one of my target demographics.

Newark, DE

Home of the University of Delaware. Newark is a classic college town with old and cool restaurants. Ate at a local eatery and shared the story of Chela. No free food this time.

The Kmart in this town is very well run. Met the footwear lead who let me know that the college students love the flip flop… Only problem is that there are very few college students in the summer. While they are selling now, he said they will blow out beginning of August when the kids come back. So get them while you can.

Miami, FL

A visit to Florida would not be complete without a stop in Miami. No, there are no Kmarts in this city that carry Chela, but I wanted a cortadito done right. This place serves some of the best in downtown Miami. It’s across from the federal courthouse on Flagler street. 80 cents for sensory heaven… the smell, taste and heat of this drink brings me to paradise. I didn’t have to pay this 80 cents because in addition to credit cards this place also takes Chelas. I still think I got the better half of the deal.

Largo, Fl and Siesta Key

Largo, Florida is up near Clearwater Florida. I am now in deep Chela weather. Hot, Humid and everyone wears the bare minimum of clothing. Found a couple brand ambassadors across the street at the local cafe. Great food and friendly staff. I def recommend a visit to this place if your travels bring you to this Kmart.

On my way home I stopped off at Siesta Key. It was rated one of the top beaches in the US for the past five years. Look at all that sand. I can almost see all the Chela foot prints in my minds eye.

Bonita Springs

Deep in South Florida you can find Bonita Springs. Home to a beautiful beach and a very well run Kmart. I stopped over at Doc’s for a drink and a sit at the beach. I didn’t like this sign that much…. Appreciated the message but not the wording. It went against my bottom’s up slogan.

West Texas

Taking a break in San Antonio before I head out to Florida to hit up the Bonita Springs and Largo Kmarts. Drove through the vastness of West Texas… 12 hours of mesas and nothingness. Very beautiful however. I have started hearing reports that people are really appreciating Chela. Should hit all 50 stores this week. Right now I think they have hit 20-25 stores.
